Topic 2 : Goal Setting

Goals are things we want to achieve. It will helps to motivate you to do work, attend classes and study for exams.

Goal setting is a process for thinking about your ideal future and for motivating yourself to turn this vision of the future into reality.

  • Moderately challenging
  • Realistic
  • Positive
  • Specific
  • Finite
  • Measurable

Golden Rules of GOAL

ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL GOALS

  • Academic goals is something relates with our works. Such as a student we have to complete our assignment and preparing for the exam.
  • Personal goals is something that relate with our daily life and our dream.

Long – and Short – Term Goals

  • Long – term goals are the objectives you set for yourself for the end of the year , for four or five years from now , or even for a lifetime .
  • Short – term goals can be set for an hour from now , for the end of the day , week , month , or term ( or semester) . Example : Short – term goals include things like completing a reading assignment , writing an essay , getting a B in a course , getting off probation , or making the Dean’s List .
  • Think of your short-term goals as steps towards achieving the long-term goals you’ve set for yourself.

Properly set goals can be incredibly motivating and as you get into the habit of setting and achieving goals, you will find yourself confidence build fast.
